Investigation of friction welding parameters of AISI 304L/Ti-6AL-4V joints

Abstract The present paper focuses on evaluating the bonding strength interfaces between contact materials such as AISI 304L and Ti-6Al-4V via. friction welding (FW). Experimental tests are performed by considering process parameters time, rotational speed pressure, mechanical properties were evaluated. of 1800, 1600, 2100, 2300 2500 rpm considered in study. response surface methodology (RSM) is used to predict outcomes work. revealed that pressure 160 MPa, 7 sec time 2300rpm optimal based joint strength. Also, observed aluminum interlayer thickness 1.25 μ m side 1.38 side. tensile 143.39 MPa was noticed at interface area. RSM generates curved potential line frequency range with 6.5% elongations. Results confirm that, experimental values close agreement.
